Our Mission
Community + Code is a podcast about the people who shape open source — not just the code they write, but the stories they carry, the communities they build, and the values they live.
We believe people are more valuable than code, and that stories are more impactful than software. Through conversations with developers, designers, advocates, and organizers from across the open source ecosystem, we aim to foster a sense of belonging, trust, and shared purpose.
This podcast is a space for reflection, dialogue, and connection — because building community is as vital as building technology
Code of Conduct
Community + Code is built on the belief that people are more valuable than code, and that stories — shared with openness and care — are what truly connect us. We invite our guests and our listeners into a space rooted in curiosity, trust, and mutual respect.
What We Value
- Belonging: Everyone deserves to feel seen and heard.
- Care: We speak thoughtfully, listen deeply, and respect boundaries.
- Honesty: We welcome differing views and lived experiences with an open mind.
- Connection: We value dialogue over debate and relationships over being right.
Our Commitment
Whether you’re a guest on the show, a behind-the-scenes collaborator, or a member of our audience:
- Speak with care, listen with intent, and honor each person’s story.
- Avoid language or behavior that excludes, diminishes, or harms.
- Respect requests for privacy, off-the-record commentary, or boundaries.
- Help us nurture a space where people from all walks of open source feel safe to show up as themselves.
We may not have forums or community features (yet), but these values guide all of our interactions — recorded and unrecorded, public and private.
